The National Community Driven Development Program (PNDP), has just put in place an operation to meet its development objective in this third phase. The development objective is that which aims at reinforcing the management of local public funds as well as the participatory development process within the councils, so as to guarantee sustainable and quality infrastructure as well as socio-economic services. The Wum town hall hosted the official launching of PNDP score card operationThe launching ceremony was chaired by the Mayor of Wum Council,
Dighambong Anthony Mvo under the watchful eyes of the the Divisional
Officer of Wum central subdivision.This operation is known as the “Citizenship reporting card mechanism for public action” (SCORECARD). This SCORECARD operation is an all citizen action which aims among others to appreciate the pertinence of actions, projects, public services as well as the means allocated for them; controlling public action and/or obliging officials to be accountable to their citizens.
The objective of an activity of this magnitude is to promote good governance at the local level, and increase the efficiency of public action (The best public services offered, the clearest Conception of public policies); make the voice of the vulnerable and marginalized population heard.
To Build the capacities of councils, enabling them to capitalize on the lessons learned and effect changes, following the results of the operation.
To empower councils and local development actors with the capacity to replicate this operation after a successive period.In the days ahead, the survey team shall sojourn in our municipality, to talk with the population in order to score our council, and enable development to forge ahead.
The launching, meetings for Wum council took place today September 11th 2017 in order to have the adherence of stakeholders to the process as well as agree on the methodology and expected Results.
