As
the casket closed, more tears dropped.
The
atmosphere was filled with sorrow and pains as read on the faces of mourners.
The wailing and the loss of a son, father, brother, uncle, godfather and above
all a husband, speaks volumes of a great loss.
As he fed the flock, the shepherd of St Martin De Pores Catholic Church Wum remarked that the presence of all is a manifestation of
their solidarity, not only to the bereaved family, but also to the staff of Wum
Council, the entire Catholic Church, the entire division and the labour family.
Describing Ghong Fidelis Fuo as a hardworking,
ever ready to go where others will not go, jovial, loving and caring father,
straight forward and truthful, Rev.Fr Michael Mua called on both the immediate
and extended families, as well as the industrial family, to uphold the legacy
left by Pa Ghong Fidelis, and to make all attempts to fill the vacuum his death
has created, though it would not be an easy task.
The requiem mass was a unique opportunity, for
the Lord Mayor of Wum Council, Mr. Dighambong Anthony Mvo, to express profound
sympathy to the bereaved family. He exhorted them to accept the great loss with
faith in the risen Lord. Pa Ghong has
been honoured by Wum Council, as the street from Zongekwo to Kooh-fe-Ngom, is
now known as FUO STREET.
If tears could bring late Pa Ghong Fidelis back
to life, his family members, colleagues, catholic Christians and the entire
population of Menchum and beyond, will cry him a river. But he is gone forever
and it is going to be a very long time, to take the shock away. Until we meet
to part no more, Adieu Pa Ghong Fidelis.
